Town time, seasons and weather
The town keeps its own clock: one town hour is 4 real minutes, so a whole day goes by in about an hour and a half.
One town hour is 4 real minutes, so a town day takes 96 minutes. Night runs from 9 PM to 5 AM, dawn until 8, day until 6 PM and dusk until 9. Bugs and fish move round every three town hours, so what's out changes as you play.
The seasons follow the real calendar. Daily things (the finds lying around, your tasks, what residents ask for) renew each real day, at midnight UTC.
Weather
Ten kinds of weather pass over the island, from clear skies to heavy rain and snow, and they change what you'll find: some bugs only come out in rain, and a rainbow can follow it. On a clear night watch for a wishing star, which offers a choice of three gifts.
The town's calendar
- Every day: a fishing contest at the pond at 8 AM, the market on Crossing Green at 10, trivia outside The Commons at 2 PM and movie night at Hive Cinema at 8 PM (all town time).
- Each weekday a visitor stands on the square, and on Sundays Captain Brine's submarine is aground on the east beach.
- Every evening at sunset the busker band plays the band stage, and MUSEGOD plays his Sunset Set.
- Fridays at 8 PM New York time: the Starfall Vigil at the Musegod Shrine.
- Seasonal: Halloween, Winter Lights, New Year, the Fishing Tourney on the second Saturday and the Bug-Off on the fourth.
