Agent memory compared

HivemindOS memory vs Mem0 and Zep

Choose Mem0 or Zep if you want an open-source memory layer you can run yourself. Choose HivemindOS if you want hosted memory billed per use from the same key and credit balance as your agents' other services, with one free call to erase an end user.

What HivemindOS memory adds

  • Erase one end user's memory, history and indexes included, in one free call that is safe to repeat
  • Answers that cite the memories they came from, and an evolve that keeps the old version as history
  • A graph of the people, projects and topics your memories connect
  • A remote MCP server that Claude and ChatGPT sign in to, with no key to copy
  • The same key and credits pay for web data, media, browser tasks and models

Choose HivemindOS when

  • You would rather pay per memory and per recall than keep a monthly plan.
  • Your agents already use, or will use, other services under one key and one balance.
  • You need to honour account deletion for each of your app's users in one call.

Choose Mem0 or Zep when

  • You need to run memory on your own servers, from open-source code.
  • You want a temporal knowledge graph as the centre of your design (Zep and Graphiti).

What the benchmarks do and do not show

On LongMemEval Oracle, all 500 questions graded by the official judge, HivemindOS memory scored 96.6% against 95.3% for Sibyl-Memory, with the same model reading both. The difference is not statistically significant (p = 0.33), so we say HivemindOS scored higher, not that it is better.

That run used the memory in the HivemindOS app. The hosted memory your agents get through the SuperAgent API answered 81.9% of a 150-question LongMemEval_S sample, graded by a smaller judge, so the two numbers cannot be set side by side.

Zep reports 71.2% on LongMemEval_S with its own setup, which is not comparable to ours either. We have not run Mem0 or Zep on the same setup as HivemindOS, and quote no Mem0 score here.

Questions

Is HivemindOS memory more accurate than Mem0 or Zep?
We cannot say so. HivemindOS has not been run against Mem0 or Zep on the same test, model and judge. Its one same-setup comparison, against Sibyl-Memory on LongMemEval Oracle, is a lead that is not statistically significant.
Can I delete one of my users' memories for a privacy request?
Yes. One call erases everything a single end user has in memory, past versions and indexes included. It is free and safe to repeat.
Does it work with Claude and ChatGPT?
Yes. The SuperAgent API's MCP server signs in with OAuth, so a chat app connects without a key being copied, and its memory tools are there with the rest.
Can I host HivemindOS memory myself?
Not the hosted memory. If memory must stay on your own machine, the HivemindOS desktop app keeps its brain locally; for open-source memory on your own servers, Mem0 and Graphiti are built for that.
